After encountering a few problems, I searched the Kano website for helpful tips to resolve those problems (help.kano.me). These are the tips that I found that were most helpful to me.
- The Kano connects to output devices (monitors or TVs) via HDMI cable. If your monitor does not have an HDMI port, you will need to purchase an HDMI to VGA converter, which is what I had to do.
- If you are using an HDMI to VGA converter, the HDMI cable on your converter may work best if you remove the protective case and plug the HDMI cable directly into the Kano device. I found that in most instances, the case prevented the HDMI cable from connecting securely into the HDMI port.
- Some of the SD cards needed to have the Kano OS reinstalled. The Kano kept rebooting and giving a Modern Manager error. Reinstalling the Kano OS was simple and quickly resolved the problem.
