This school year, I have been encouraging students to read a wider variety of books. This includes both nonfiction and fiction books that they may not have considered reading before. In order to get them excited about this, I created a Book Bingo form with a variety of genres of books. Students who get Bingo on their form are given a certificate and several small prizes. I am very proud of the students who have completed their Book Bingo forms and am looking forward to encouraging more students to participate. Students have had so much fun during Makerspace Mornings! The activities that they have participated in have given them the opportunity to work collaboratively, think creatively, code, solve problems, and think logically! Whew, that is a lot! The most important thing is that they have had fun and had the opportunity to work work with technology and materials that they have not worked with before. Here are some pictures of our makerspace participants in action! |
