This lesson provided a great teaching point on the difference between a database and an Internet site. Students learned that when they use a database, they will have to enter search terms in order to find the results that they are looking for. They also learned that in order to narrow their search results, they need to enter more specific search terms. For example, the students observed that entering the search term Piedmont in GALILEO Kids yielded 2480 results, but when we changed our search term to Georgia Piedmont, our search results were reduced to 575. Students noticed that they did not need to use search terms on the Internet sites.
